Born and raised in Dallas Texas, Darius moved to Norman Oklahoma in 1987 after graduation from Lake Highlands High School to attend the University of Oklahoma. It was during this time in college that he confirmed it was the world of fashion that was his passion and that he wanted to become a Evening dress designer. After some moderate local success in Oklahoma, he decided it was time to take this merchandise to the national level. It was then, that the marriage of determination, compassion, design, & fashion sense were perfectly melded into him producing his own designer collection. The first pieces were showcased at the Atlanta Apparel Market in October of 1996. This was the beginning of the label "DARIUS CORDELL" taking its rightful place as a contender in this part of the fashion arena. Just over a year later, the company expanded into the wedding bridal market and that line has since evolved into a successful couture line on its own.
The design firm company, Darius Cordell Inc, exhibited samples of custom designs exclusively only to bridal boutiques salons shops and retail stores for years from a private showroom within the Dallas International Apparel Market as well as other regional wholesale markets in Chicago, Las Vegas and New York. In 1998 the company relocated back to Darius' native home of Dallas Texas where we've experimented with selling wedding gowns & formal gowns to individuals across the world via the internet as well as to select retail clients in the Dallas Metroplex area via his private studio. We still offer our merchandise wholesale to retailers for resale via regional markets for even further exposure nationwide. However the direct consumer response locally and via mail order through the internet, retail, has been great. So now plans are being made to create a new upscale retail showroom open to the public in historic downtown Frisco which is just 25 miles north of Dallas.
Our private studio is located in Frisco Texas which is approximately 20 miles north of Dallas. We sell our formal evening wear ball gowns and accept orders by appointment or via fax, scan or mail from our on-line catalog. We ship these fine ladies high quality well made upscale designer mother of the bride semi formal dresses social attire anywhere locally nationally and world wide including to all 50 states. We have manufactured our very own dress designs with the kindest of care since 1996. All can be customized to a clients personal taste regarding cut placement of embellishment or regarding any measurement that is needed like raising or lowering the bust line skirt width of hem or lowering the back and/or the sleeves. We will also make our petite regular & plus size special occasion dresses and cruise dress attire with any customized preferences modifications & request in any unique hard to fit sizes silk fabric or whatever color pallet. Each of the items we manufacture can be made to the measurement that the client needs for their particular body shape.
